The all-new MINI Cooper Electric: The Future of Premium Mobility

The all-new MINI Cooper Electric is now hitting the market with a fresh design, exhilarating driving experience, and increased range. The new model is the latest addition to the iconic MINI 3-door family, geared towards electric driving fun. Available at two power levels, the MINI Cooper Electric is a significant step towards locally emission-free premium mobility of the future.

Sales of the all-electric MINI Cooper SE model saw a 25.5% increase in 2022, making it the most popular MINI model, with over 43,000 units sold worldwide last year. In fact, one out of every five MINIs on the road now is electrically powered. To keep up with the growing demand for electric vehicles, the new MINI Cooper Electric offers full torque from the start, without delay or shift interruptions. The lithium-ion high-voltage battery is installed in the floor of the car, which improves road holding and weight distribution, enhancing stability and agility.

According to the automaker, the new MINI Cooper Electric features improved driving dynamics thanks to the expertise of the BMW Group, its parent company. Since its introduction in 2001, the MINI 3-door has been firmly anchored in the company’s brand history, with continuous advancements in technology, efficiency, and power delivery, reflecting the popular MINI model’s tradition-steeped history. The latest model is set to raise driving fun to a new level, perpetuating the concept of urban driving fun that has been successful for over 60 years.

The MINI Cooper Electric offers improved range and maximum flexibility, with a battery capacity of 40.7 kWh or 54.2 kWh, depending on the power level. The new model has a predicted range of between 300 and 400 kilometers, noticeably extending the radius for excursions within the urban setting and beyond. The MINI Cooper Electric’s hallmark space concept highlights the maximum flexibility of a purpose-built vehicle, with the interior design allowing for the luggage compartment volume to be expanded, and four seats included.

The new MINI Cooper Electric is all set and ready to go for the all-electric future of MINI, alongside the MINI Countryman, which is set to be produced at the BMW Group Plant Leipzig from November 2023. The MINI Aceman will complete the new model family from 2024 onwards. The new model comes with a three-pin domestic plug charging cable and an optional Type 2 charging cable for public charging.

The automaker has announced the MINI Electric Collection 2022/2023, which includes new features and design elements for the MINI Cooper Electric, such as new colors and trims, black-finished headlights, and a Union Jack-themed LED rear light cluster. The MINI Electric Collection 2022/2023 will also include the new MINI Electric Lifestyle Collection, which features MINI Electric-branded clothing and accessories.

The new MINI Cooper Electric is the perfect blend of classic MINI design and modern electric technology. The model offers an electrifying driving experience, full of agility and acceleration, and is emission-free, making it an ideal choice for city driving. With its improved range, the new model also offers flexibility for longer journeys, and its unique space concept allows for maximum versatility. As one of the most popular electric vehicles on the market, the MINI Cooper Electric is the future of premium mobility.
