BMW Introduces the Powerful BMW X1 M35i xDrive

A performance model with unmistakable M character is taking its place at the top of the new BMW X1 range. The new BMW X1 M35i xDrive builds on the spontaneous driving pleasure that lies at the heart of the compact Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) concept with an injection of the dynamism, agility, and precision for which M models are renowned. Its powerful four-cylinder unit is part of the new modular generation of BMW Group Efficient Dynamics engines, utilizing M TwinPower Turbo technology to deliver impressive performance.

The new BMW X1 M35i xDrive boasts a maximum output of 221 kW/300 hp in Europe and an even higher figure of 233 kW/317 hp in the USA and other selected markets, making it the most powerful four-cylinder engine in the latest generation. This exceptional power propels the vehicle from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 5.4 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph). The M-specific chassis technology and BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive system ensure sublime performance characteristics and precise handling.

The exterior design of the new BMW X1 M35i xDrive reflects its performance-oriented nature. Exclusive design cues, such as the two pairs of exhaust tailpipes and optional M Sport seats with an illuminated M logo, set it apart from other models in the X1 range. The interior is equally impressive, featuring the new BMW iDrive with QuickSelect and BMW Operating System 9, enhancing the digital technology experience.

The market launch of the new BMW X1 M35i xDrive is scheduled for October 2023 in the USA, followed by deliveries in Europe in November 2023. Production will take place at the BMW Group Plant Regensburg, alongside other variants of the new BMW X1, including the all-electric BMW iX1.

One of the highlights of the new BMW X1 M35i xDrive is its powerful four-cylinder engine. This latest generation unit incorporates various innovations, including the Miller cycle, redesigned intake ports and combustion chambers, and changes to the camshaft timing, injection, ignition system, and exhaust gas routing. The M TwinPower Turbo technology has been upgraded to deliver optimal performance, and the engine generates maximum output between 5,750 and 6,500 rpm, with peak torque of 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) available from 2,000 up to 4,500 rpm.

The seven-speed Steptronic transmission fitted in the new BMW X1 M35i xDrive offers ultra-sharp shifts, and shift paddles on the steering wheel provide quick manual interventions. The M Sport Boost function allows for exceptionally rapid bursts of speed, activating the sportiest settings for the powertrain and chassis systems. The BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system ensures optimal distribution of power between the front and rear wheels, while the mechanical limited-slip differential enhances traction and agility.

The new BMW X1 M35i xDrive features an adaptive M suspension, which offers both agility and long-distance.
