Suzuki Releases the New Outboard Motor, DF250AP

May 28, 2012 –Hamamatsu City, Japan (Techreleased) –Suzuki Motor Corporation will launch the new four-stroke, large outboard motor, DF250AP in Australia, Europe, North America, Japan, etc. from the summer of 2012.

DF250AP shares the same technology and design with Suzuki’s flagship outboard motor, DF300AP. It will be introduced as one of the models that represent Suzuki outboard motor’s advanced technologies and designs.
By newly adopting the Suzuki Lean Burn Control, it realized low fuel consumption. There are a variety of usage from marine leisure such as sport fishing boat and high speed cruiser, to commercial use.

Features of DF250AP

  • Suzuki Selective Rotation, the world’s first technology to integrate both regular and counter rotations of a propeller, which was first adopted on DF300AP, an outboard motor which won the NMMA Innovation Award at the 2012 Miami International Boat Show on 16 February, is also adopted on DF250AP.
  • To meet the market needs, the control system was changed from conventional mechanical cable to electronically controlled Suzuki Precision Control (electronic throttle and shift systems), which realized quick-responding throttle control and smooth gear operation.
  • Based on the DF300AP engine, its displacement was raised from 3,614cm3 to 4,028cm3, while newly adopting the Suzuki Lean Burn Control, which realized improvement of fuel efficiency in a wide speed range from low speed to cruising.
