LG Electronics is taking its cloud gaming services to the next level by expanding the experience on its 2023 TVs with 4K support for NVIDIA GeForce NOW and the popular Boosteroid service in over 80 and 60 countries, respectively. This move aims to complement the existing Blacknut and Utomik services and provide LG TV users with a suite of cloud gaming options.
With the Game Quick Card on webOS 2023, gamers now have easy access to services such as GeForce NOW, Utomik, Blacknut, newly launching Boosteroid, as well as Twitch and YouTube, straight from the home screen of their LG TV. LG’s premium OLED TVs offer ultra-smooth gameplay with a 0.1 millisecond (gray-to-gray) response time and low input lag, providing a more personalized gaming experience with the Game Optimizer and a variety of customization features and game-genre-specific picture settings.
LG 2023 TV users can now enjoy gaming on GeForce NOW at 4K 60fps with no additional downloads, installation, or hardware required. This feature is currently available on LG TVs from 2020 to 2022 models running webOS 5.0 and higher. Furthermore, support for 4K gaming on GeForce NOW will be coming to select 2022 TV models at a later date. Popular games, including Cyberpunk 2077, No Man’s Sky, and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, become more realistic and dynamic when played in stunning 4K resolution on LG’s premium TVs.
Another exciting addition to LG’s stable of cloud gaming services is Boosteroid, the world’s largest independent cloud gaming provider, with four million global users. LG TV owners from 2021 to 2023 (webOS 6.0 and higher) in Europe, North America, and a part of LATAM can access hundreds of top PC video games, including some of the world’s most popular AAA titles, without the need for a console or set-top box. The service delivers reliably smooth gameplay and hours of immersive, interactive fun with its 18 server sites worldwide.
LG is committed to offering a diverse range of gaming services through its expanding webOS ecosystem, and the company plans to continue partnering with gaming industry leaders to bring its customers a broad selection of options for different preferences and interests, while advancing the gaming capabilities of its outstanding TVs. This year, LG TV owners can look forward to even more cloud gaming services, including Amazon Luna.
According to Peggy Ang, LG’s Head of Global Marketing for Home Entertainment, “As the gaming industry continues to grow, we remain committed to providing our customers with the best possible gaming experience on their LG TVs. With the addition of 4K support for NVIDIA GeForce NOW and Boosteroid, we’re giving our users more choices and greater accessibility to some of the world’s most popular games.”
Cloud gaming has been gaining traction in recent years as internet speeds and technologies continue to improve. It allows users to stream games from the cloud, eliminating the need for expensive gaming consoles or high-end computers. With LG’s expansion of cloud gaming services on its 2023 TVs, gamers can enjoy an immersive and seamless gaming experience without the need for additional hardware or downloads.
