Lexus Eclipses Luxury Rivals To Again Lead Dependability Study –Feb 29, 2016– Nagoya, Japan (Techreleased) – Lexus has underlined its engineering excellence and vehicle build quality standards by finishing on top of the influential US-based J.D. Power 2016 Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) for the fifth successive year.

Lexus Eclipses Luxury Rivals

The luxury carmaker achieved the feat by registering the least number of problems per 100 vehicles (PP100), again eclipsing a host of rival manufacturers to the title.

The J.D. Power VDS, which is in its 27th year, focuses on problems encountered during the past year by original owners of 2013 model year vehicles.

The number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles determines the overall dependability for each model.

The study covers 177 symptoms, grouped into the following categories:

– exterior
– engine/transmission
– audio/communication/entertainment/navigation (ACEN)
– interior
– driving experience
– features/controls/displays (FCD)
– heating/ventilation/air conditioning (HVAC), and
– seats

Lexus ES and GS luxury sedans also won their segments for dependability in the 2016 VDS.

Lexus Australia chief executive Peter McGregor said Lexus’ triumph in the dependability study was clear recognition of the company’s manufacturing standards.

“Success in this respected study is clear proof of the painstaking attention to detail Lexus applies to creating world-class luxury vehicles,” Mr McGregor said.

“Our vehicles are built to exceptional standards regardless of where they are sold, so achieving the highest ranking in the J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study is relevant for all markets, including here in Australia.”
