ZTE announces the MeBox IPTV + OTT Dual-mode Set-top Box – Mar 19, 2014– Shenzhen, China (Techreleased) – ZTE Corporatio, a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment, network solutions and mobile devices, has launched the ZTE MeBox, an IPTV+OTT dual-mode set-top box (STB), at the TV Connect 2014 conference and exhibition in London, whichhas been shortlisted for the “Global Best TV Consumer Terminal” award to be announced on March 19th.

The ZTE MeBox STB (model number ZXV10 B760E) is an embedded audio/video decoding device based on the open Android platform. It features advanced hardware architecture and an optimized H.264 video decoding algorithm, making HD video playoutmore smooth andvivid.

It is based on ZTE’s unique “Convergent Network Video Platform” and can supportvarious consumer needs in the triple-play era, for example, remote surveillance,video conferencing, multi-screen interaction and screen-casting, home media storage and sharing.

According to the “IPTV Market Leader Report – 2013 Year-End” recently published by Multimedia Research Group (MRG), ZTE ranks number one in the Video-On-Demand (VOD), STB, and Middleware in the six major segments of every IPTV solution, making it a undeniably leader among global vendors. In addition, ZTE is the first in industry to have launched an Ultra-HD 4K STB product, the ZXV10 B803, in the beginning of 2014. With distinct advantages over current-generation HD STBs, this terminal supports H.265 (HEVC) decoding algorithm, and can decode Ultra-HD videos with a maximum resolution of 3840×2160 in 60 frames per second.
