Toshiba’s New Ultimax-i FPD Multipurpose System –Oct 21, 2015– Tustin, USA (Techreleased) – Expanding the clinical capabilities of limited R&F room space with the industry’s smallest tilting C-arm multipurpose system available, Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. introduces the newest addition to its X-ray portfolio. The Ultimax-i FPD multipurpose system has a small footprint that installs adjacent to back walls to improve patient access and allow for more complex procedures by providing routine angiography lab capabilities within an existing R&F space.

Toshiba’s Ultimax-i FPD system is designed to efficiently use the space providers have to safely diagnose and treat all patients, without the need for major renovation. The multipurpose system can accommodate up to 500 lb. with a wide, high-capacity table to comfortably image a range of patients. The system features full-spectrum detection on a flat-panel detector with corner-to-corner, 43 cm x 43 cm coverage for high-resolution imaging. This large, flat-panel detector also helps reduce dose by limiting areas of anatomy receiving unnecessarily repeated radiation exposure, and thus results in safer exams.

“At Toshiba, we believe hospitals shouldn’t have to endure costly construction to renovate smaller existing R&F rooms or delay a system upgrade to expand their imaging capabilities,” said Bill Newsom, director, X-ray Vascular Business Unit, Toshiba. “With Ultimax-i FPD, healthcare providers don’t have to sacrifice on advanced imaging technology, allowing them to deliver better patient care and achieve the Triple Aim of reform.”

Toshiba will showcase the Ultimax-i FPD multipurpose system at this year’s Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting in Chicago, November 29–December 24, 2015 (Booth #7336, North Hall).
