Panasonic to Showcase Latest Video Technologies at 2023 NAB Show

Panasonic Connect Co., Ltd. is set to showcase its latest video technologies and solutions at the National Association of Broadcasters’ show, “2023 NAB Show”, the world’s largest international exhibition of broadcast equipment. The show will be held in Las Vegas from April 16–19, 2023, and will feature innovative live-video production platform “KAIROS”, industry-leading PTZ camera systems, and IP video production workflows integrated with robotics, as well as solutions for enhanced efficiency and creativity.

Panasonic Connect’s booth in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center (booth C3308) will exhibit as well as demonstrate a lineup of advanced technologies and solutions with new products in four zones.

One of the featured products is the PTZ camera system lineup, now celebrating its 15th anniversary, which is designed to meet diverse budgets and application needs. The booth will showcase the just-launched new flagship model (AW-UE160W/K), the new 4K60p outdoor PTZ camera (AW-UR100), and new IP-enabled compact live switcher (AV-HSW10). These products are designed to deliver high-quality 4K video and advanced video expression, while streamlining production and distribution operations with IP-based remote operation, robotics-based automation, and more.

In addition to the PTZ camera systems, the booth will feature a demonstration of the KAIROS platform, which is an IP video-production system that connects PTZ and studio cameras with the IT/IP platform KAIROS using ST 2110. This platform is designed to elevate operational efficiency and creativity, and in the demonstration, each camera will be linked to a robotics system for shooting with dynamic camera work in an efficient way. Visitors to the booth will be invited to experience flexible KAIROS features such as unrestricted layers and scene creation, Canvas functionality for the video productions in special formats, and a reference exhibit of a cloud-based remote production system for the US.

Another highlight of the booth is the Connected Classroom, which features a mock classroom to showcase Panasonic’s solution for video production and streaming. The advanced features of this solution include an in-camera auto-tracking feature* for existing PTZ cameras and microphone-linked audio based preset controls for automated video production that simplify operation and reduce operators’ burden. The PC-based auto-tracking software uses deep learning for accurate recognition even when multiple subjects are present, and the auto tracing feature built in PTZ cameras offers easy integration and simple system configuration.

The booth will also feature new products and technologies that Panasonic is set to launch in the coming months. These include the AT-KC200 Kairos Core 200 (Main Frame), which is a new mid-range KAIROS with improved performance and functionality set to be launched in June 2023. The AT-SFTC10 Touch Control Panel Software will also be launched in June 2023, and it enables the multi-viewer touch-panel control to be used for switching, macro, scene selection, clip playback, and other operations in the KAIROS system. The AW-UE160W/K 4K-Integrated Camera is a new flagship ST 2110 PTZ camera with F14/2,000 lx sensitivity comparable to studio cameras, set to be launched in March 2023. The AK-PLV100GSJ 4K Studio Camera is another new product to be launched in March 2023. This ST 2110 4K studio camera comes with a PL lens mount and 5.7K Super 35mm sensor.

The AW-UR100 Outdoor-Ready 4K-Integrated Camera is another exciting product that will be on display at the Panasonic Connect booth. This rugged 4K/60p PTZ camera comes with diverse interfaces for high-precision video and flexible system configuration. It is set to be launched in the third quarter of 2023, between July and September.

The AV-HSW10 Compact Live Switcher is also set to be launched in the last quarter of 2023, between October and December. This IP-enabled compact live switcher is perfect for on-site streaming of high-quality video at lectures, webinars, and other live events.

Visitors to the Panasonic Connect booth can also experience the company’s advanced solutions for video production and streaming in a mock classroom environment. This solution includes an in-camera auto-tracking feature for existing PTZ cameras and microphone-linked audio based preset controls for automated video production that simplify operation and reduce operators’ burden. The PC-based auto-tracking software uses deep learning for accurate recognition, even when multiple subjects are present.
