Friday Night is SHE RIDES NIGHT

The Toronto Motorcycle show is proud to present SHE RIDES NIGHT on Friday December the 7th. With more women becoming involved in the sport and industry, SHE RIDES NIGHT is an industry celebration of women who ride or are considering taking up the sport. It will feature an entertaining evening of programming including demonstrations, celebrities and other activities and events that appeal to women riders. SHE RIDES NIGHT will be an information filled evening catering to women who embrace the freedom, independence and pleasure that comes with riding. It’s our way of saying thanks for your contribution to the sport and we hope you enjoy your night compliments of the Motorcycle & Moped Industry Council (MMIC), the Canadian Off-Highway Vehicle Distributors Council (COHV) and their member companies.

Yamaha Riding Academy for Kids

Yamaha Motor Canada and Canadian Motorcycle Training Services are proud to present the Yamaha Riding Academy exclusively at the Toronto Motorcycle Show. The Academy offers a free opportunity for kids aged 6 – 12 (certain conditions apply) to take a ride on the latest Yamaha TT-R off-road motorcycle. With certified instruction, the latest motocross gear and a 15-minute riding session, your child will be safely introduced to the wonderful world of off-road riding. Participation is limited to 8 riders at a time during scheduled session hours.

In the last 7 years over 20,000 children have learned to ride through participation in the Academy which emphasizes safety, proper riding equipment and introductory basics such as braking, balance and throttle control. The TT-R minibikes are equipped with a throttle restricted governing feature that allows technique to be mastered at slow speeds to promote riding safety and having fun. All safety equipment is supplied for the kids. A visit to the Yamaha Riding Academy is a great way to get them started in an activity that will bring a lifetime of enjoyment!

NORTHEASTERN ONTARIO TRIALS DEMONSTRATIONS

Featuring Jordan Szoke and Dan Johnson, two of the sports most accomplished motorcycle trials competitors, along with Dan’s young son, Aiden, will be demonstrating their skills on the obstacle course during the Motorcycle show – Toronto.

Jordan Szoke’s, has won over 17 National championships including 8 Superbike Championships. His other passion, Observed Trials, lead to several CMA Canadian National Expert Championships.

Dan Johnson started riding motorcycles at 3 years old and trials at 14. He is a two time Canadian Champion and four time Ontario Champion.

Dan’s son Aiden aged 6, is a chip off the old block and will demonstrate his skills.

Motorcycle trials, are a non-speed event on specialized motorcycles. Trials motorcycles are extremely lightweight and lack seating. Competitors ride through an obstacle course while attempting to avoid touching the ground with their feet.
