HARLEY-DAVIDSON V-ROD

Whether this is going to be your first time purchasing a motorcycle or you are looking to upgrade to a new or a different type of bike, it is important to fully understand the difference in different makes and models of motorcycles. The first thing you should do before even beginning your search for a motorcycle is make sure that you have a full understanding of what you are getting into by purchasing a motorcycle and also what the laws are for driving a motorcycle. Motorcycles are fun to ride and can save you a good amount of money each month in gas and insurance bills but do understand they are not quite as safe as a car or truck.

HARLEY-DAVIDSON V-RODQuestions To Ask Yourself

After going over all the rules of the road and safety guidelines for motorcycles you will now need to think about what you are going to be using the motorcycle for. Are you purchasing the bike to take long road trips across the country and explore back roads every now and then or are you looking for a quicker motorcycle so you can get into some type of racing activities with your bike? These are just a few questions you need to ask yourself before deciding where to head to look for a motorcycle.

Harley Davidson

If you’re the type of person that wants a big loud bike that will catch everyones attention as you cruise through town then I would suggest looking into Harley Davidson. While these bikes can cost you upwards of $15,000 they are well worth it. Harley Davidson’s are built to last for a long time, they look beautiful (not some cheap foreign made motorcycle), and are also some of the most comfortable motorcycles around. If going on road trips with buddies and checking out the country in the most comfortable manner is a priority to you, then I suggest looking into a Harley. If you can’t afford a Harley Davidson then you can check out some of Honda’s models that look similar such as the Honda Rebel, however if you can manage to spend the extra cash the Harley is the way to go.

Sport Bikes

Now if you’re looking to speed around town as quick as possible or get into motorcycle racing then you are going to want to look into some lightweight, fast, and shifty bikes such as a Yamaha R1 or if you want to get real crazy you can look into Hayabusa street bikes which are mainly made for the purpose of racing but are normally legal on the streets as well. These are the type of small sporty looking bikes you normally see zipping past you on the streets. Not as loud as the Harley, but definitely quicker acceleration and top speeds. If you still want the small street bike without the big engine I recommend looking into the smaller model of the Yamaha R1 which is the Yamaha R6. The main difference between the two is the R1 is packing a 1000cc motor and the R6 has a 600cc motor.

Conclusion

The choice really comes down to which motorcycle you think looks and fits your needs best. If you’re trying to get into racing a Harley is not going to do it for you. You’ll want a street bike as they accelerate much quicker and get you to where you need to be as fast as possible. If you’re going to be using your motorcycle for luxurious cruises, and want something that is comfortable and will last you a long time stick with the Harley – you can’t go wrong!
