Dec 03, 2012– Stuttgart, Germany (Techreleased) – In future, Bosch will be offering batteries with 2.0 Ah for all 10.8 volt professional tools. They offer at least 50 percent longer runtime than current 1.3 Ah batteries and can increase the performance of cordless tools by up to 15 percent. For example, by using a 2.0 Ah battery in the GSR 10,8-2-LI Professional cordless screwdriver, the torque is increased from 13 to 15 newton meters in a soft screw driving application. At the same time, the professional is able to continue his work for 50 percent longer with no increase in weight of the tool, as the batteries are just as small and lightweight as those of the 1.3 Ah generation.
The proven “Flexible Power System” has been adopted for the 2.0 Ah batteries: the batteries are interchangeable within the 10.8 volt series and can be used in all tools. Professionals can also use the 1.5 Ah batteries with shorter runtime.
As a pioneer in lithium-ion tools and modern battery technology, Bosch has continued to expand its range of compact, powerful 10.8 volt tools since the first ever professional lithium-ion screwdriver was brought into the market in 2005: the GSR 10,8 V-LI Professional screwdriver was followed by 14 other compact tools, including a cordless saber saw, a cordless multi-cutter and a cordless angle drill. Today, the GSR 10,8-LI Professional and the GSR 10,8-2-LI Professional, both successors to the pioneering screwdriver GSR 10.8 V-LI, will reach combined global sales of around 400,000 units per year.
The 2.0 Ah batteries for professional 10.8 volt tools will be available at specialist retail outlets from January 2013 onward at a recommended retail price of 55 euros plus VAT. The range will also include 1.5 Ah batteries, priced at 48 euros plus VAT.
