June 26, 2012 – Ingolstadt, Germany (Techreleased) – Around two weeks ago the electrical goods retailer Saturn and Utopia, Germany’s leading Internet platform for sustainable consumption, launched a cooperation to recommend particularly energy-efficient electrical appliances. In Saturn’s online shop at www.saturn.de, the most recommended products that made it to the EcoTopTen product lists of the Öko-Institute.V. are now easily recognizable by the logo “Utopia empfiehlt” (recommended by Utopia). This is where customers can now also find the most energy-efficient TVs in addition to the existing product categories.
Especially when it comes to washing machines and dishwashers, refrigerator/freezer combinations as well as coffee machines, energy efficiency has ranked among the most important purchase criteria for quite a while already. An increasing number of customers are also interested in the power consumption when purchasing a TV. This is why Saturn and Utopia are now marking the most resource-efficient TVs with the logo “Utopia empfiehlt” (recommended by Utopia) on www.saturn.de. The aim of the cooperation is to increase the share of energy-efficient household appliances with targeted customer information. “We are very pleased to be able to extend our cooperation by the field of TVs”, says Klaus Guido Jungwirth, “right in time for the semifinal of the European Football Championship with Germany participating.Experience has shown that the interest in purchasing a new TV is always very high in the wake of such major sports events. We would be happy to see that, with this measure, an increasing number of customers opt for an energy-efficient TV.”
