The new JVC GV-LS2 and GV-LS1 combine the video performance of a top-quality conventional camcorder with the unmanned capabilities of a high-end security camera and roll them into a compact device with Wi-Fi and remote control.

The JVC GV‐LS2 and GV‐LS1 live streaming cameras offer a number of advantages over other types of streaming cameras. Their pan/tilt/zoom operation can be controlled remotely from a PC or smart device, and is quiet compared to gear‐driven mechanisms. This silent operation in the GV‐LS2 is achieved through the use of low‐noise DD motors to move the camera, while the GV‐LS1 pans/tilts/zooms electronically. Android and iOS apps for remote operation are available for free download.

At the heart of both models is a 1/2.3” 12.4 Megapixel Back‐Illuminated CMOS sensor and JVC’s FALCONBRID high‐speed image processing engine, which allows Full HD quality to be maintained even when only part of the entire image is used for lossless image stabilization (both models) or pan/tilt (GV‐LS1). The GV‐LS1 maintains Full HD resolution at up to 2x zoom, but is capable of up to 4x electronic zoom. The GV‐LS2 offers 10x optical zoom. This makes both models an ideal way to stream images and sound from live events as they are unobtrusive and won’t intrude on the performance. Besides HD streaming, both models offer Full HD quality AVCHD video recording onto an inserted memory card.

Built‐in Wi‐Fi makes wireless streaming and remote operation possible, plus it also allows system expansion by adding a Wi‐Fi router for multi‐camera control of up to four cameras”. Direct Wi‐Fi operation of a single camera is also possible without a router or hotspot. In addition to an internal stereo microphone, there’s a MIC input for connecting an external microphone.

The GV‐LS2 delivers outstanding performance with its F1.2 10x optical zoom lens and servo‐driven pan/tilter, while the GV‐LS1 is designed to handle more adventurous situations with electronic pan/tilting, splash‐proof body compliant to IPX3 standards, and optional external battery drive support.

The GV-LS2 and GV-LS1 are available immediately for $999.95 and $799.95, respectively.
