Mar 28,2012 – Yokohama, Japan (Techreleased) – Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced it will establish a new company, Renault Japon Co., Ltd., to import and sell Renault vehicles in Japan, effective April 2, 2012. The new company will continue the same business operations currently performed by the Renault business division (hereinafter referred to as Renault Japon) of Nissan Trading Co., Ltd.
Renault delegated the import and sale of Renault vehicles in Japan to Nissan Trading Co., Ltd. in 2006. Since then, Renault Japon has streamlined the business, resulting in increased sales of Renault vehicles from 2010 onward. To further strengthen the business, Renault Japon will be spun off as a subsidiary of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.
This decision is based on the need to establish a management system that can make swift marketing decisions which help increase Renault sales and enhance Renault-Nissan Alliance synergy with Nissan’s sales strategy.
