DP74 microscope digital camera

Launch Of Dp74 Microscope Digital Camera Intelligent Imaging For An Improved Workflow – Nov 03, 2016– Tokyo, Japan (Techreleased) –  Olympus Corporation today announced the international launch, by its Scientific Solutions Business, commencing in November 2016, of the DP74 microscope digital camera.

DP74 microscope digital camera

The microscope digital cameras used on both biological and industrial microscopes, and they make it easier to capture and record images while viewing them on a monitor. Olympus sells a variety of cameras designed for microscope use, including its DP microscope digital camera series.

The new DP74 is the successor to the DP73 that has earned a strong reputation among microscope users. The ability of the DP74 to display high-speed live images at 60fps*1 (four times faster than the DP73) provides easy operation, with the smooth live images at any time. Moreover, the new model is equipped with numerous functions for simple and quick operation, such as the Position Navigator function.

1. Developed as a camera that any customers can observe easily with smooth imaging performance at any time

The ability to perform live imaging at 60fps (four times faster than the previous model) displays judder-free images on the monitor even during rapid stage movements. This makes observation easier in a variety of applications, such as leading-edge research or the observation of pathology specimens and other testing procedures.

2. Position Navigator function can keep track of the observation location, even when viewing at high magnification

It is not uncommon to lose track of the observation location when using a microscope with a high-magnification objective. The position navigator keeps track of your location, so you will always know precisely where you are on your sample when making high-magnification observations. Furthermore, the ability to store the observations and map together is useful when preparing documentation.

3. New functions enhancing efficiency and comfort for operators

A problem with the amplification of very low levels of light, which is required when performing fluorescence imaging*2, is that it can result in intrusive noise in the live images. Live noise reduction feature added on DP74 makes it possible to capture low-noise, high speed images of live specimens in real time. This makes the microscope easier to operate when viewing dark specimens and enables rapid focusing. The DP74 also equipped with the LiveHDR that provides crisp imaging of features such as undulations or scratches on electronic components or semiconductor surfaces.
