Apr 19, 2013– Shenzhen, China (Techreleased) – A GSA (Global mobile Suppliers Association) report, Evolution to LTE, released March 19, 2013 has confirmed that Huawei is leading the industry for a number of deployed LTE 1800MHz networks.
According to the report, 69 of a total 156 commercial LTE networks deployed worldwide utilize 1800MHz spectrum. Huaweis leading SingleRAN LTE solution has been deployed on 41 (59%) of these commercial LTE 1800MHz networks in 32 countries. The same report from GSA released last year on April 12, 2012, detailed the number of deployed commercial LTE 1800MHz networks to be 16 worldwide, demonstrating a year-on-year increase of over 331%. The most recent report states 1800MHz is the most important spectrum band for LTE enabling global LTE roaming: “1800 MHz is the most widely used band for LTE deployments globally. LTE1800 serves millions of subscribers (Q4 2012 = 14.27 million) on over 44% of commercially launched LTE networks today.” The report later adds: “1800 MHz is the prime band for LTE deployments worldwide, and will greatly assist international roaming for mobile broadband. Many more operators will launch LTE using 1800 MHz, which is widely available. Mobile licenses for 1800 MHz have been awarded to 350+ operators in nearly 150 countries.” Huaweis leading SingleRAN solution has been successfully deployed worldwide and has proven its advantages as a platform for LTE deployments. The following are recent examples of Huawei SingleRANs capabilities to cost efficiently build 1800MHz LTE networks while growing network total value of ownership (TVO): In the UK, Huaweis SingleRAN LTE solution successfully helped one operator allocate 1800MHz frequency resource to its LTE network to quickly provide LTE services and support smooth evolution from GSM to LTE. In Hong Kong, Huaweis SingleRAN solution helped one operator upgrade 1,000 GSM 1800MHz base stations to provide LTE services in only six weeks. Following the upgrade, a flawless changeover process took place in just a few minutes. In Japan, Huawei helped one operator deploy the worlds first UMTS/LTE 1800MHz commercial network with a streamlined time-to-market UMTS/LTE 1800MHz refarming solution that reused the networks original UMTS antennas, OSS system and equipment cabinets. In Singapore, one operator deployed LTE networks with Huawei SingleRAN LTE/EPC solution to simultaneously support LTE spectrum bands 1800MHz and 2600MHz to maximize the value of existing spectrum resources. To date Huawei has won more than 150 LTE commercial contracts and has helped operators launch 77 LTE commercial networks. Huawei is a leading LTE solutions provider committed to helping operators deploy efficient, competitive and profitable LTE mobile broadband networks.
