Honda Begins Sales of all-new Grace LX in Japan –June 20, 2015– Tokyo, Japan (Techreleased) – Honda Motor Co., Ltd. today began sales of the all-new Grace LX at dealerships across Japan. The gasoline-powered Grace LX is a new addition to the lineup of the all-new Grace, a compact sedan that fuses together easy handling unique to a vehicle in the 5-number size category and a spacious cabin, stately exterior styling and enhanced visual and tactile qualities often found in an upper-middle-class sedan.

The Grace LX is equipped with a 1.5-liter direct injection DOHC i-VTEC engine that features both powerful driving and a high-quality feel. Combining this engine with a CVT (continuously variable transmission), Grace LX realizes both exhilarating driving feel and outstanding fuel economy for a gasoline engine of 21.8km/liter (JC08 mode).

Furthermore, a new color, “Premium Crystal Red Metallic” that combines a clear luster with a deep color tone, was added to the original color lineup for the Grace.

By adding the gasoline-powered Grace LX to the lineup of Grace hybrid types which offer fuel economy of 34.4km/liter (JC08 mode), the best fuel economy among all 5-number category sedans available in the market, Honda enhances the Grace lineup to fulfill a broader range of customer needs.

Key features of the all-new Grace LX

  • Grace LX is equipped with a 1.5-liter direct injection DOHC i-VTEC engine that realizes both powerful driving and excellent environmental performance. By injecting the fuel directly into the cylinder, this engine generates a maximum output of 97kW (132PS) while realizing excellent fuel economy of 21.8km/liter (JC08 mode).
  • In addition to a number of features that enhance occupant comfort such as a fully automatic air-conditioning unit with rear air outlets that adopts Plasmacluster®* technology, Honda Smart Key System and genuine leather-wrapped steering wheel, the Grace LX features automatic retractable mirrors that automatically retract/protract in conjunction with locking/unlocking of the doors.
  • A new color, Premium Crystal Red Metallic, was added as an exclusive color for the gasoline-powered Grace LX type. This is a special color that holds a deep color tone covered with a luster.
  • Leveraging the ease of getting in and out of the Grace, a special needs vehicle equipped with a rotating front passenger seat was made available. Without compromising the original vehicle’s design, occupant comfort and excellent seat hold, an exclusively-designed easy-to-get on/off seat was adopted.
