Gigabyte At Ces 2017: Visit Our Enterprise Zone Booth To See New ‘El-30’ Iot Gateway Products – Aug 10, 2017–Taipei, Taiwan (Techreleased) – CES 2017 provides the launching ground for GIGABYTE’s latest IoT gateway solutions. The company continues to meet the increasing demands of IT professionals operating at the thin end of the network – in scenarios from retail to displays to building automation – with this new offering. As a member of Intel’s IoT Solutions Alliance, GIGABYTE has adopted the updated Pentium and Celeron versions of the chipmaker’s latest Apollo Lake platform in its new EL-30 product series to offer a durable, compact, multi-protocol solution for connectivity at the edge.

EL-30 Series IoT Gateways

The EL-30 products embed these new generation processors on a high durability motherboard to achieve an ultra-compact form factor, and is installed in a fanless, industrial grade aluminium case. The EL-30 features a range of ports and connectivity options making it a highly flexible IoT Gateway solution that will excel at its core purpose: bridging the data output of legacy edge systems with cloud-based analytics infrastructures, supporting retail solutions or signage-based services through its 2xHDMI and 1xeDP port.
The new generation of this IOT gateway (formerly ‘EL-20’) brings new functionality to the small form-factor, with added connectivity through both an extra COM port (RS485/232) and optional Zigbee connectivity. The operating range is also extended: while both models offer a lower base frequency than the previous generation for better power efficiency, both also offer a higher burst frequency – allowing more performance per watt – and both DDR3 and DDR4 options. In addition, this new platform offers increased security through ‘Intel® Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O’ (‘VT-d’), which also improves the virtual-environment performance of I/O devices.
