June 11, 2012 – Falls Church, USA (Techreleased) – General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) completed its previously announced purchase of IPW Holdings, Inc., the parent company of IPWireless, Inc., on Friday, June 8.  IPWireless, a San Francisco-based provider of 3G and 4G LTE wireless broadband network equipment and solutions for public safety and military customers, has been renamed General Dynamics Broadband.It will operate as a subsidiary of General Dynamics C4 Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics. The value of the cash transaction has not been disclosed.

General Dynamics Broadband produces 3G and 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) wireless broadband network components and user devices for end-to-end systems that enable first responders and other mobile users to access lifesaving data and applications at very high speeds. Built on commercial networking standards, the company’s products improve first responders’ effectiveness and safety by providing them with greater access to information.

General Dynamics Broadband will continue working with its existing industry partners and customers in meeting the communication systems needs of public safety users nationwide.
