Eaton Unveils 93PM UPS with Market-Leading Efficiency – Sep 24, 2013– Raleigh, USA (Techreleased) – Power management company Eaton today announced the launch of the 93PM uninterruptible power system (UPS), its next generation three-phase system engineered to offer the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) in the industry. Complementing Eaton’s best-in-class power management portfolio, the 93PM is designed with today’s data center and facility managers in mind, featuring flexible deployment options that support integrated thermal management solutions, a compact footprint that is 35 percent smaller than competitive units, efficiency up to 99 percent and simplified energy management features.

As an integrated UPS solution, the 93PM can be strategically deployed and scaled to meet the specific needs of nearly any critical application, including grey or white space deployment, colocation facilities, mission-critical data centers and virtual and cloud data center environments.

“Eaton continues to build on its long history of introducing cutting-edge power quality solutions and technologies that set the industry standard in addressing data center customers’ energy management challenges,” said Brian Brickhouse, president, Power Quality Operations, Eaton. “With its exceptional reliability, flexibility and market-leading efficiency, the 93PM is no exception. It combines features and benefits that are not available with any other product on the market – providing an integrated data center asset that helps to reduce costs, alleviate cooling burdens and meet sustainability goals.”

The 93PM helps reduce operating expenses through Eaton’s Energy Saver System (ESS), a technology that can provide industry-leading energy efficiency up to 99 percent without sacrificing power protection. For applications that require more traditional UPS modes of operation, such as medical facilities or for power conditioning, the 93PM now sets the tone for the industry as the first UPS to achieve 97 percent in double-conversion efficiency.

The 93PM’s flexibility and innovative thermal management options continue to set it apart from competitor offerings. It is quickly and easily configured to support front-to-top ventilation for wall and row configurations, and front-to-back ventilation for contained aisle configurations. Supporting nearly any installation strategy, the 93PM is designed for the seamless installation of overhead busway or conduit, cable trays and heat containment accessories.

Further curtailing TCO, the 93PM possesses the most compact physical footprint in its class and supports scalability in 50-kilowatt (kW) increments, allowing data center and facility managers to avoid unnecessary investments in excess capacity. The 93PM also delivers true modular redundancy, negating the need to purchase a second model for paralleled reliability in most applications.

Engineered for the most advanced information technology (IT) environments, the 93PM is paired with Eaton’s Power Xpert® software and Intelligent Power® Software Suite, which provide the tools needed to remotely manage power devices in a physical or virtual environment. Eaton’s eNotify™ Remote Monitoring service also provides around-the-clock, real-time monitoring and alerts both service technicians and the customer when a problem is detected.

Additionally, to provide customers with detailed power system insight, the unit features an intuitive liquid crystal display (LCD) touchscreen display that provides graphical energy savings and consumption data. Green, yellow and red light-emitting diode (LED) light-bars are also integrated into the 93PM to quickly and easily view system status at-a-glance.

The 93PM is now available in the Americas from 20 kW up to 100 kW with internal redundancy, the 150 kW with internal redundancy to 200 kW capacity units will be available this fall.
